Edie Farrell, BA, PT
Founder of CPR Now, AHA BLS instructor, and Advocate
Edie Farrell, BA, PT is a Co-Survivor of Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA). She was the Co-Founder with her husband Joe of a physical therapy private practice in Castro Valley, California in the late 1980’s. After 30 years of patient care and administering her private practice, she retired secondary to health concerns. Currently, she is a BLS CPR instructor for the American Heart Association (AHA), and an advocate for SCA survivors and Co-Survivors.
She formed a volunteer CPR/AED training nonprofit called “CPR Now” shortly after Joe survived SCA in 2008. The goal of “CPR Now” is to volunteer time to teach CPR/AED use within the San Ramon Valley, CA, where she and Joe previously resided, and also their current residence within the North Lake Tahoe region. Edie & Joe, along with many other CPR instructors in the San Ramon Valley of California have trained over 30,000 citizens in “Hands-Only CPR” and how to use an AED over the past decade. They continue to train citizens in “Hands-Only CPR” in Incline Village, Nevada where they currently reside.
Edie has been an invited speaker at the AHA Scientific Sessions and the State of Resuscitation Conferences addressing the topic of Co-Survivorship. In addition, she has participated in several studies relating to SCA Co-Survivorship.
Edie is a strong believer in “paying forward” for all SCA survivors and Co-Survivors through her volunteerism and advocacy.
