Joshua Lupton, MD, MPH, MPhil

Assistant Professor, Department of Emergency Medicine, Oregon Health and Science University

Joshua Lupton, MD, MPH, MPhil, is a cardiac arrest survivor, emergency physician, and researcher who studies ways to improve outcomes for patients after out-of-hospital cardiac arrest. After receiving his undergraduate degree from the University of Oregon, Josh was selected as a Marshall Scholar and received an MPH from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and an MPhil from the University of Cambridge. While attending medical school at Johns Hopkins University, Josh suffered an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest while running in May of 2016. After making a full recovery, Josh completed his residency in Emergency Medicine and a fellowship in Emergency Care Research at Oregon Health and Science University. He is now an Assistant Professor, Department of Emergency Medicine, Oregon Health and Science University.

A Founding Member of the Oregon Chapter of Sudden Cardiac Arrest Foundation, Josh lives in Oregon with his wife Katherine and their two children.
