Sarah Perman, MD, MSCE, FAHA
Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine, University of Colorado School of Medicine
Sarah Perman, MD, MSCE, FAHA, is Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine at Yale School of Medicine. Previously she was an Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. Dr. Perman obtained her medical degree from Temple University and completed her general emergency medicine residency at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. She then completed a Resuscitation Research fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania Center for Resuscitation Science, while also obtaining her Masters Degree in Clinical Epidemiology from Penn.
Dr. Perman is an active member of the American Heart Association. She is currently Vice-Chair of the AHA 3CPR Council and co-chair of the Resuscitation Science Symposium. Dr. Perman receives funding for her research from the National Institutes of Health and the Emergency Medicine Foundation.
Dr. Perman’s clinical interests are focused on post-cardiac arrest care and acute critical care in the emergency department. Her research is focused on disparities in cardiac arrest outcomes, complex decision making in post-cardiac arrest care, and neuroprognostication for comatose survivors of cardiac arrest.
